Two task types, both scored partly on staying inside a strict word range.
Writing shares Part 1 with Speaking. There are two task types: a one-sentence summary and a full essay. Since August 2025 Write Essay is reviewed by human experts for development, coherence and language use, so template-only answers no longer score well.

Frequently asked questions
A structural plan helps; a memorised text does not. With human expert review on Write Essay, generic scaffolding with thin argument scores poorly on development and coherence — the traits templates cannot supply.
